The Touchpad Is Unresponsive

The cursor does not move/respond when you interact with the touchpad, or jumps around without a smooth motion.

Loose Touchpad Cable

Ensure that the touchpad is not locked(Press Ctrl+F5). If the touchpad still does not respond, then the touchpad cable is either broken or has lost connection with the internal motherboard. Consider replacing it.

Bluetooth Will Not Connect

You are unable to turn on Bluetooth or connect to it.

Faulty Bluetooth Connection

Make sure to update all necessary software. Many Bluetooth problems occur when an outdated version of Bluetooth attempts to work with a newer version.

Always check for Bluetooth firmware updates. Bluetooth serves a variety of purposes, which are sometimes difficult for software updates to keep up with.

It’s always a good idea to turn Bluetooth off every once in awhile. Bluetooth typically requires a lot of energy, which could be causing multiple problems throughout your device. Try turning Bluetooth off, and then on again.

If these problems persist, you may have a broken Bluetooth chip, which will require you to purchase a new one and replace it. Refer to the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card replacement guide

Laptop Is Overheating

Your laptop is getting warmer than usual and your computer is not functioning properly/acting abnormally.

Broken Cooling Fan

The vents of the laptop’s cooling system may be blocked by dust so clean out the vents with a duster.

If the problem is not because of an obstructed vent, then the cooling fan may not be working properly.  If that is the case you may need to replace it.  See our guide about how to do this.

The Screen Is Not Working

The screen appears to be cracked, dislocated, or some or all parts of the screen do not light up.

Broken Glass

Sometimes, the LCD (liquid crystal display) is undamaged, but the glass that protects it is cracked. This may be the case if you see strange lines or patterns on the screen, or black spots. If the glass is cracked you will need to replace it.

Panel Damage

These lines and patterns may also indicate internal hardware damage. A broken screen could be caused by a dislodged internet video cable, or a problem in the computer’s graphics systems.

Liquid Inside Screen

If a liquid was spilled on your device, it may have gotten inside the screen. This may be the case if the screen appears to be darker or blurred in some places, or you see liquid inside it.

Isolated Large White Or Black Spots

A sharp object hitting the screen can cause pixel damage. Damaged pixels may appear bright white, and when they are completely broken, there would be a dark spot on the screen.

Leaking Liquid Crystal

If there are big black and white blotches throughout the screen, liquid crystal may have leaked across several pixels.

With the exception of a dislodged cable, most of these problems will require you to replace the screen on your device.

Battery Problems

Your battery is not charging or does not hold a charge for a very long time.

Inadequate Power Supply

Make sure that the connections to the power supply, wall outlet, and laptop are secure.  This will ensure proper charge is being delivered to your battery.

If this is not the problem, than you may need to replace your battery.  When batteries get old, they do not hold a charge very well and the only way to fix this is to buy a new one.
