Dim MagSafe light while plugged in using 1 to 2 adapter.

I have my MacBook stripped down to the motherboard and am trying to get it to boot. The power on pads have been scratched a bit, due to me trying to use them and slipping. When I try to boot with the cable plugging in, using a MagSafe 1 to 2 adapter to plug in due to my MagSafe 2 plug breaking, the light turns on, but glows a dim green. I am using the 60 watt charger and I know the plug works because I tested with another MacBook that I have spare. I am using a thunderbolt to hdmi cable for output and the keyboard connected broke, and I had to recycle the top case due to the battery. I tried my best to remove the keyboard but failed.

Boy! That’s a lot of broken here!

So if I get where you are the battery is dead and in the process you damaged the uppercase and the keyboard is likewise not working. Now trying to use the logic board without a case only gets you a dim MagSafe LED. Sadly that’s the power logic which is damaged. There is a set of MOSFETs which switches the power from the MagSafe to the battery to charge it as well as allow the battery to power the system as well as allow the MagSafe to power the logic board directly.

Given how much is needed here just on what you’ve offered I think this is a lost cause 😖😢

Time to throw in the towel and get another system and just use what’s left as spare parts depending on what you get to replace it.

I took a second look and the area near the ports is a bit dusty.
