The laptop does not show signs of powering on or is not responding to presses of the power button.

Check to see if the laptop battery is charged by plugging in your laptop. Leave the laptop plugged in for at least 30 minutes and try powering on again.

Check if the laptop battery is fully seated in the back of the laptop. The best way to check is to take out the battery completely and plug it back in. Take out the battery using this guide.

Check to see if your laptop charger is functioning properly. When the charger is plugged in, the “battery charging” light should be illuminated on the front of the laptop. If not, your laptop charger is faulty and should be replaced.

If your laptop powers on when the charger is plugged in, but immediately dies once it is unplugged, your battery may be faulty and should be replaced. Replace the battery using this guide.

Computer does not connect to wifi even when wifi connections are present.

Check to see if the wifi icon is present in the taskbar. If not, navigate to the network page and manually turn on the wifi.

If the wifi icon is not present or is greyed out in the taskbar, your internal wireless adapter may be faulty. Try restarting your laptop. If the problem persists, replace the wireless adapter. Replace the wireless adapter using this guide.

Touchpad is not responding to touch even though computer is powered on.

Your touchpad drivers may be outdated. Check for new drivers from Lenovo and follow the instructions provided on Lenovo’s website to update the drivers. If that doesn’t solve the problem, try restarting your computer.

If updating the touchpad drivers and restarting your computer did not solve the issue, you may have a faulty touchpad. Replace the touchpad with this guide.

Computer appears to be powered on but the display does not show any signs of being powered on.

Make sure that the display is not accidently disabled in the computer’s software. To check, press the “Fn” key and then the “F2.” If that did not fix the problem, then repeat the action once more. Then press the Windows key and then the “P” key twice. The computer may have been in projector mode; this reverts it back to computer only.

If the touch screen does not respond to touch after re-calibration and restarting your computer, your LCD may be faulty. Replace the LCD with this guide.

If multiple restarts or battery fixes does not work, you may have a faulty LCD panel. Replace the LCD panel with this guide.

Screen is not responding to user input even though computer is powered on.

If your operating system has stopped responding, your system may be using all the available memory at that moment. This problem may resolve itself, so try waiting a few moments. If the problem persists, you may need to close or uninstall programs that you do not need to free up your memory. You can close these programs by pressing the ‘Ctrl’, ‘Alt’, and ‘Delete’ buttons to bring up the task manager, and selecting ‘End Task’ for those that you wish to close. If that doesn't solve the problem, try restarting the computer.

The LCD appears to be responding to touch even though no external touch is present.

Check if the touch screen software is up to date. If it is not, you should follow the touch screen software update guide.

The touch screen does not respond to touch even though computer is powered on.

To calibrate your screen alignment, first go to Start. Type “touch” in the search bar, then select “Calibrate the Screen for Pen or Touch Input.” Select the Calibrate button in the Tablet PC Settings window. This will take you to the windows calibration tool which will guide you through the touch calibration process.

If the touch screen does not respond to touch after re-calibration and restarting your computer, your LCD may be faulty. Replace the LCD with this guide.
