The laptop will not charge when plugged into the charger.

First make sure that the problem is with the device itself and not the outlet. Try plugging your charger into another outlet to see if the first outlet is not working. You can also check to see if your outlet has power.

If not then it may be your charger that needs replacing. Try to use another charger with your laptop to see if it charges.You can also plug the charger into a similar device and see if the second device will not charge. If the charger will not charge either device or the laptop charges with another charger, replace the original charger.

If the outlet and the charger are not the issue then the battery itself is likely not maintaining a charge. It may need to be replaced in order to fix the laptop. The battery replacement guide can be found here.

The cursor does not move when using the touchpad or cannot click on items.

Dirt on the trackpad may make it more difficult for the laptop to sense your touch. Start by wiping off any debris or stains on your touchpad and see if this improves the touchpad's performance. Use a soft cloth such as a screen wiping cloth and pour some isopropyl alcohol on the cloth. Then proceed to wipe the trackpad with the cloth until all the debris is removed. Running a thin card such as a business card that has isopropyl alcohol on it under the edges of the trackpad can help remove any debris under the trackpad.

If your touchpad is still not responding try turning your laptop off and back on to restore the settings. To do this hold down the power button until your laptop completely turns off. If that doesn't work press the refresh key and the power button for 20 seconds and see if this fixes the issue.

The audio is distorted or missing through the computer speakers or headphones

If the audio is working through the speakers but not through headphones, first try a different pair of headphones to ensure it is a problem with the laptop. If the audio is still missing or distorted, It could be due to a faulty headphone jack. Examine the jack to ensure it is securely installed.

The audio driver might be corrupt if the sound is not coming out of either or both speakers. Check your internet connection as the driver should update automatically. Restarting the laptop could also help correct this issue. If none of these recommendations work, the problem is likely that the speakers are broken.

Failure of the camera to respond or turn on.

Failure of the camera to work may be due to incompatibility of the laptop settings. First close the camera app. Next, power off your device by clicking on the bottom right corner of the screen where the time is, and selecting sign out > shut down. Then turn it back on by pressing the power button. Finally, reopen the camera app you were using. If it still does not work refer to the next step.

 Camera failure might also be due to a problem with the app you are using. Make sure permission is granted to the app to use the camera. Then, check to see if the camera works in another app. If it works in one app and not the other it is recommended to uninstall the app for which the camera isn't working by clicking the launcher up arrow in the corner of the screen, right-clicking the app, and selecting “uninstall” or “remove from Chrome”. You can then then reinstall the app.

The Bluetooth device is not connecting to the laptop or the connection keeps dropping.

Look up your user manual on your device and see what its maximum Bluetooth range is. Once you have found this distance, check to see if your device is too far away. If so, move it closer to the device and see if your Bluetooth now works. Moving both devices away from other electronics can also help the Bluetooth signal.

The connection may be poor due to altered settings. Start by turning Bluetooth off on the laptop, then turn it back on. Hold down the power button on the laptop until it completely powers off. Then turn your laptop back on and try to connect your Bluetooth. Turning off other apps that are not being used can also improve the connection.

See if the device is charged and its pin is entered into the laptop correctly. Then turn your Bluetooth device off and on according to the device’s specifications and see if it then connects to your laptop. The keyboard keys are not typing characters, getting stuck, or repeating characters

The account you are using may be having a problem with the laptop’s keypad. If none of the keys will type, log into another account or use a guest account. If you can type in the other account, delete the malfunctioning account and add it again. If that does not help or the main account is the one not functioning, reset the laptop.

One way to restore the settings is to hard reset your laptop. To perform a hard reset begin by powering off the laptop. Press and hold the Refresh key then press the Power key. Hold both keys for 10 seconds then release the Refresh key, followed by the Power key. Press the Power key again if the laptop does not automatically restart.

If one or more individual keys will not work it may be due to the buildup of dust and debris. To resolve this issue, power down the computer and clean the keys. Individual keys can be wiped off with 70% isopropyl alcohol on a towel or terry cloth. To perform a more thorough cleaning you will need to remove the keys. A guide for key removal can be found here. Soak the dirty keys in an alcohol based cleaner and spray the areas of the keyboard where the keys were with compressed air to remove debris, or use tweezers to remove individual particles.
