Unresponsive Touch Screen
The LeapPad screen will not respond or has a very slow response to touch.
Dirty Screen
Clean screen using a microfiber cloth. Gently remove any dirt, crumbs or anything that could be lodged between the screen and the plastic cover of the device.
Cracked or Damaged Screen
A cracked or damaged screen will likely need to be replaced. Instructions for screen replacement can be found at LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate Screen Replacement. To prevent this from happening, avoid using any objects on the screen other than designated tools or fingers.
Faulty Connections
If there are no visible signs of damage to the LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate, the screen may be disconnected from the motherboard. To repair this, you will need to reconnect any loose cables that have been disconnected from the motherboard. Speaker Not Working
The LeapPad is not making any sound or is making distorted noises.
Distorted Sound
You can replace it with a new speaker. To prevent this, avoid getting things into the speaker and overusing it.
Battery Not Charging or Holding a Charge
The LeapPads battery is not charging or is malfunctioning.
Faulty Power Adapter
If the battery isn't charging, one issue may be a faulty power adapter. Plug the adapter into an active power outlet and use a different device to ensure the adapter works.
Battery Exhausted
To rectify these issues replace the battery. This problem can occur due to age of the product or general mishandling. It can be prevented with careful handling and by not overheating the battery by overusing the LeapPad.

My leapfrog ultimate turns on and cannot do nothing. It has a blank black screen and sounds still work but I can do nothing the color is out. Its completely black. How can get the picture back on my screen?

Hi, I stumbled upon this same problem with my leapfrog ultimate. What I found was that the backlight had gone out, try to point a flash light or any bright light on the screen and you’ll see it display. Now, I just don’t know how to fix it.:(

Hi I stumbled apon the same problem too here is how to fix it on your computer launch the leap frog connect power on the leap pad while simultaneously holding down the right arrow and home button on the leap pad as you power up the leap pad the screen should boot to a connection needed screen using the usb cord that came with the leap pad plug the leap pad into the computer when the update completes click the eject button at the top right corner of the screen and disconnect the leap pad

HI there. I have a LeapPad Ultimate and everytime i switch it on, theres a yelllow exclamation mark at the internet connection bit. Before you ask, yes my wifi connection is on within my house and it is connected to it. I have even bought and downloaded new games for the kids and they cant play them or the old ones we have alredy downloaded. What do i do now? I need this to keep them entertained. Thanks

My son leappad ultimate is brand new. Literally jus got a few days ago n he hasnt used it as yet. I try setn it up but it kept sayn unable to set up at this time so I gave it a break n went bk at it later that night to find tht its coming on sayn leap frog but the screen goes blank i can c a little light where the screen is not fully dark but thats as far as that goes!

From reading the comments I have found out the back light is out. The leap pad is new. Anyone know how to fix it?

My leappad won't charge. The light on the side will flicker between orange and green and I cant get it to stay orange. How to fix pls.

Brand new leapfrog ultimate tablet. Within the first day or so, the sound coming out of speaker is distorted (sounds crackly with background static). It has been mostly supervised play, no water damage. Any way to fix this? No visible debris in speaker. Thank you so much!
