Device Will Not Power On
"Device will not power on" is characterized by the absence of light/LED function
Battery tab may still be in place
The battery tab is the small piece of plastic located on the battery compartment. It acts as an insulator between the battery ends and the metallic contact.
Using incorrect batteries may be underlying cause
The batteries must be alkaline, non rechargeable.
Connection of metallic contact with battery may be interfered
Make sure that the metallic contact with battery is uncovered and free from debris or corrosion.
The environment may impair scale function
If the environment is too hot, or humid, this may affect the operation of the device.
Faulty motherboard

Screen Unresponsive
"Screen unresponsive" is characterized by a distorted or lack of display
Battery issue

Faulty LCD screen

Household cleaners may have damaged the screen

Faulty motherboard
If you have replaced the LCD screen, and the display is still distorted, the motherboard is the underlying cause of the issue. See the Motherboard replacement guide. Withings Smart Body Analyzer Motherboard Replacement
Scale Drastically Misreading Measurements
Scale drastically misreading measurements shows inaccurate readings for weight
You may be moving too much
If arrows appear on the screen, try to lean in the direction of the arrows to provide optimal stability. If four arrows appear on the screen, then you are moving too much. Too much movement will result in accurate readings.
The scale may have just been moved
If the scale is moved, wait at least 10 seconds for the scale to tare, otherwise the reading will be inaccurate.
The carpet in your house may be the underlying cause
If the scale is placed on a carpet, the carpet may interfere with the reading, depending on the carpet thickness. Make sure to use to provided pads/carpet feet underneath the scale. Also, try using the scale on a hard floor to see if the carpet is the issue.
Faulty pressure sensors
If none of the above troubleshooting recommendations find the source of the issue of the scale misreading measurements, it is likely that the pressure sensors are faulty and will need to be replaced. My scale didn´t power on after replacing batteries, I even powered it with usb cable and no result, pressing back button more than 8 secs for reset, I was going to give up and suddenly, after rolling/spinning the batteries(ikea new ones) inside their housing (rubing their surface with my hand) it came back to life ¿bad contact of metallic conectors? I don´t Know but thanks god.
By the way, I mistaked polarity one of the multiple times I rechanged the batteries, no harm I gess as its working again.
Love the way this scale register my weight on the cloud, but this brand is not sound: I bought a watch Activite !And the minutes clock hand move out of the time every day! It seems the step motor is defeated by centrifugal forces when weared on wrist.

This helped me to get started again. I also cleaned the contact surfaces by hand and suddenly the screen lit up. Very touchy piece of equipment, but good.

My display seems to be stuck in a loop after stepping on scale:
1. Turns on for about 1.5 seconds with weight shown
2. Dims to about 30% brightness for about 1 second (still with weight shown)
3. Turns completely off for about 1 second
4. Back to step 1
The previous day it worked fine. The next morning I stepped on the scale it started happening. I’ve replaced batteries, reset device, did a new setup from my phone.
Great scale when it worked, but I guess I’ve reached the usable lifetime.
Ideas?

The scale wouldn’t turn on for me; no activity from the LCD screen, even w/ fresh batteries. JLAR’s suggestion of cleaning the battery contacts & rolling the batteries in the housing actually worked for me.

I had my weight taken at two different doctor's offices this week and my Withings is showing me about 12 pounds heavier than both of those readings today. I just replaced the batteries - any other recommendations for ensuring accurate readings?

My smart body analyzer has stopped from continueing the analysis process after showing weight. This haplened from one day tomthe next without any obvious reason I could see / think of.

The battery contact cleaning along with fresh batteries finally did the trick. Needed 3 applications of Deoxit and scraping the corrosion before it powered on again.
