Background

The Dell Precision M6700 was released in 2012, and it was released as a part of the Precision series of Dell laptops which started production in 2008. These computers are marketed towards people whose job/business requires computer aided design, and it was also marketed as a high performance computer. It is compatible with E series docking stations.

The M6700 was the first model to have a 3D display and it was also the last precision model to have a RGBLED display option. It was originally sold at a price of $3,579. The model after the M6700 is the M6800, which has more memory options and it also had an updated chipset. It also has a G3 CPU Socket.

There are no common malfunctions with this specific model of the Dell Precision. There is also an option to add an external battery to the computer which extends the battery life. It also had an updated chipset from its predecessor, the M6600.

Identification

This device can be identified by checking the boot up screen. The boot up screen will have the model number of your device. You can also find out the specific model by opening the BIOS menu. You could also run hardware diagnostics on your computer. This specific model also has a 17 inch screen and is about 7.76 pounds. It has 2 3.0 USB ports on the right side and 2 2.0 USB ports on the left side. It will also have ethernet and HDMI spots on the back. It can also come in 3 different colors: red, silver, and black. On the bottom of this device there's a port for an external battery. The model number is also located on the bottom left of the display monitor.
