Common Cuisinart Coffee Maker Problems

Display not working

The screen does not show any information.

The machine has no power

Unplug your machine and plug it back in. If the display still does not show any information but the lights on the machine are on then the display is faulty.

The display is broken

If your display is visibly cracked and/or unplugging and plugging the machine back in did not fix the problem then the display screen will need to be replaced.

No power when machine is plugged in

The display, lights, and heating of the machine are not working when it is plugged in.

The device needs a hard reset

Unplug the machine and wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. If the machine is still not receiving power the cord will need to be replaced.

The cord needs to be replaced

If the hard reset did not fix the power, the power cord will need to be replaced.

Coffee is not hot

Coffee maker is receiving power but coffee is not heating up.

The machine has no power

Unplug your machine and plug it back in. If the display still does not show any information but the lights on the machine are on then the heating element is faulty.

The heating element is broken

If unplugging and plugging the machine back in did not fix the problem the heating element will need to be replaced.

The hot plate is broken

If the metal plate that the coffeepot sits on is cracked, chipped or otherwise broken it may need to be replaced.

The coffee has a strange taste

The coffee's taste is off.

The coffee grounds are bad

Taste the coffee grounds or make coffee with another coffee maker. If the coffee still tastes weird the coffee grounds may have expired or you just don't like this type of coffee.

The water filter needs to be replaced

Open the top of the machine and at the back left pull out the plastic charcoal water filter. If their is no filter in the device or the filter is dirty this is your issue.

The drip spring needs to be replaced

Open the top of the device and pull out the coffee grounds holder. At the bottom of the holder their is a spring, if this spring is rusted it needs to be replaced.

Knobs/Buttons/Lights don't work

Knobs/Buttons/Lights don't function properly.

The machine has no power

Unplug your machine and plug it back in. If this didn't fix your issue then the hardware is faulty.

The knob doesn't work

If unplugging and plugging the machine back in did not fix the problem the knob will need to be replaced.

The lights don't work

If unplugging and plugging the machine back in did not fix the problem the individual light will need to be replaced.

The buttons don't work

If unplugging and plugging the machine back in did not fix the problem the front faceplate will need to be replaced.

The machine starts brewing and stops after about a minute and the signal to show that it’s done goes off.

Two weeks after I bought it, its program function quit working. I have received a partial refund from Amazon. I will NEVER buy this coffee maker again.

I am royally !#^&@@. This coffee brewer, first of all, arrived without the filter that is supposed to come with it. I contacted Amazon. Amazon sent me $25 or whatever the filter cost was, to “comp” me for this loss. Next thing that happened was, the programming function on the thing stopped working after two weeks. TWO WEEKS! So I phoned Amazon. Amazon said they would refund me for the sum remaining after accounting for the $25. So Amazon, in its corporate weazly way, turned what had been a comp - that is a gift in compensation for a defect - into a “partial refund” for the whole machine, and now has paid me another $62, which, with the $25, adds up to the cost of the brewer. One thing is sure. I’m never again going to order such an item from Amazon.

This is a piece of crap. Twice it has broken under warranty. Each time you pay $10 to pay the service / shipping fee and each time you pay to return the %#*@ thing and that’s $20. Do the math.. it’s a messed up design that’s a money pit.

My coffee maker cuisinart dcc-1100 series, is no longer brewing hot coffee. I take extra care of my coffee maker and I bought one 15+years ago and it works very well to this day. I do all the regular required or recommended maintenance too. What's going on? I really do not want to buy a different more expensive brand.

I got my coffee maker for Christmas this year 2019.

My kitchen was in remodel, so I just unboxed it beginning in Feb 2020. It's now March 3rd and the coffee isn’t hot anymore. 150.00 coffee maker. Unbelievable

Anyone have an issue with the clock suddenly not keeping the correct time? After 4 mo., our clock is broken - it runs fast even after resetting it. So the programmable function doesn’t work! Tried a hard reset but still has the problem. I guess we have to return it. Nuisance in an expensive machine. Bring back the good old original Mr. Coffee! Lasted forever.

P.S. It’s still gaining about 7 minutes in an hour!

UPDATE: CALLED CUISINART SUPPORT AND THEY ARE SENDING NEW COFFEEMAKER! And I just have to cut the cord of the broken one and send them a picture of the cut cord! No mailing back! No mailing fee! GREAT!
