Does your JBL Charge 3 speaker no longer turn on? Does it not play sounds or light up? JBL Charge 3 speakers are susceptible to a range of problems that can prevent the speaker from turning on. Check the following possible causes to identify and solve the problem.
Device is Powered Off
First, try turning your JBL Charge 3 on by pressing the power button on the top of the device. The lights on the front of the speaker should turn on when the speaker is turned on.
Battery is Not Charged
If the JBL Charge 3 speaker is not charged, it will not turn on. Plug your speaker into a power outlet using its charging cable. Make sure that the front lights turn on, indicating that the speaker is charging. If the lights do not turn on, the JBL Charge 3 may have a faulty battery. Use the JBL Charge 3 Battery Replacement guide to replace the speaker’s faulty battery.
Bluetooth is Not Connected
If your speaker is not paired with another device via Bluetooth, the speaker may not show any signs of life. Disconnect your device and speaker from Bluetooth and try to reconnect them both. Once your device and speaker are paired, check to make sure that the volume is turned up on your device and the speaker. If you are unable to connect to Bluetooth, try restarting the speaker. Then, pair with Bluetooth as usual.
If your speaker still does not connect to Bluetooth, you may need to reset the speaker. Turn on the device and press and hold the “volume up” and “play/pause” buttons simultaneously until the power button glows.
Faulty Bluetooth Chip
If your device still will not connect to the speaker, you may have a faulty Bluetooth chip and may need to replace the speaker’s motherboard. See the JBL Charge 3 Motherboard Replacement guide to replace the faulty motherboard.
Faulty Power Button
Check to make sure that your JBL Charge 3 speaker is charged. If it is fully charged and still will not turn on, the speaker’s power button mechanism may be worn out or broken. Use the JBL Charge 3 Button Replacement guide to replace any faulty buttons on the speaker.

When I turn on my Flip speaker the 5 lights blink and go off, no power up. My nephew was playing with the speaker pushing all the buttons and after that it would no longer power up. The speaker worked great up until the time the buttons were randomly pressed. It has a full charge and all the buttons work properly.
I hope you can help with this situation.... I really like this speaker.

When your JBL is on demo mode, it starts only with charger and without it, it just shows the battery level.
Solution found : "Press and hold simultaneously, The JBL CONNECT button < and the VOLUME UP + button for over 10 seconds. The first battery LED on the bottom right will turn RED. This confirms the device is Reset."
There are other modes that can be triggered if I remember correctly...

I have a Jbl 3. It will not power on and when you plug it in only the bottom charging light will blink. No matter how long you leave it plugged in the bottom light is the only one that blinks. Other then that will not turn on whether plugged in or not

I found the issue with mine. All it did was blink at 1hz which the chip is designed to do when there is a fault anywhere in the circuit. Finally figured it out! It's most likely C18. There was a short between + and - at the input for the battery. I figured it out by basically desoldering every chip seeing if the short goes away or not. All chips seemed to work. So I went thru every capacitor around the chips and found C18 was my culprit. The short went away after removing it. I have my next issue of finding the value. It was in parallel with 2 other caps. One being smaller. This is my first real troubleshooting project and glad that I can tell you it's the mainboard.
